This message in part was composed by another Moderator and has been approved by Administrator for cross-posting regarding the wildfires in California. There's so much need there...I've changed the wording a little bit to fit our area. Please keep the people of California who are affected by this disaster in your thoughts.

-------
The American Red Cross is mobilizing shelter workers, mobile feeding vans and supplies to provide relief to those affected by the fires.

This is the time for Mississippians to assist others that are in need. The news services are reporting over 1 million individuals without a home. Most lost everything to the wildfire.

We have experienced the damages of tornadoes and hurricanes in the past and know the mass destruction they leave behind. Many, many people helped the Gulf Coast following Katrina and made a difference.

If you feel that you can help, please follow the link to the Red Cross and donate. Please don't post any other links. If you know of an agency that can help send a DM and I will research and post the site.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

It would be very nice if the people in Mississippi could help those in California. There are still many tho living in FEMA trailers and it would be great if they got the help they so badly need. I did hear where President Bush declared California in a state of disaster and appropriated government funds to help these people.
