Found this and thought it was cool. Although I don't understand it. I thought KC had the tallest building in MO. Not that it matters.

Check out Kansas if you want a good laugh (that is one big grain elevator!)

Did you look carefully at the diagram? One Kansas City Place in KC is the tallest building depicted. It's the tallest habitable building in Missouri; though the Gateway Arch is of comparable height, it isn't really considered "habitable".

No, One KC Place is taller. It's 190.1 meters in overall height (with spire), while Met Square is 180.7 m. I think you are confused by roof heights.

Isn't there a law that prevents any building in STL from being taller than the arch? That would put a cap on STL's efforts for height.

Springfield's tallest tied for 66th place! Woo-hoo!

Would probably explain why the elevator repairman in this area works out of his house! Feller probably has about as an exciting a job as the old Maytag repairman commercials.

I am not certain that there is a law on the books specifically in regards to being taller than the arch, but as seen when they built the federal building, people get real sensitive real fast about this issue.

I don't think it was the height so much, but how it really blocked the view of the arch from highway 40 heading toward downtown. (Its highway 40 to me. I'm old school )

I remember when One SBC Center and the Met Life Building were under construction. The "Bell Building" had the status of being the tallest building downtown just for a few years. Similar stoy for Town Pavillion and One Kansas City Place.
