We are an interracial coupal looking to move to rural Mo from Cincinnati, Oh. Does anyone have suggestions as for a good friendly neighborhoods and scenic places? We're an outdoorsy couple looking around the Centerville area. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Any specific reason you are looking in Centerville? The town is very small (less than 200 people), and among the most isolated in Missouri. You would have to drive to Farmington or Salem if you even wanted to go to a Wal-Mart (both about an hour on windy two-lane roads).

If you will be needing employment, it may also be hard to come by. Reynolds County is generally a economically depressed area and the only real industry is lead mining/recycling, logging, and cattle farming. From the Wiki page, the population appears to be declining, likely as people leave for other areas to find work (Reynolds County, Missouri - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

There are many very scenic places in rural Missouri, and Centerville certainly is one. However, employment is hard to come by over much of the area, and the few jobs that are available pay low. This will likely control where you can relocate to.

A great idea would be a road trip to Missouri if you are serious about relocating, and you could visit several different areas to get a feel for places you may want to live.

Try a small town around Columbia. There are lots of great places, Rocheport has the Katy Trail, winery on the bluff overlooking the Missouri River, and lots of little shops. And its only 15 minutes to Columbia where there is plenty of shopping and things to do.

You probably want to move to a bigger city. KC and STL will be the most "welcoming".
