Hopefully can make this a sticky for areas that for some reason have really bad traffic.

For me 2 areas...

Semmes on Moffet Rd or Hwy 98 eastbound side from the light at the WalMart to 1 mile west. This is due to the light being set wrong. Saturday afternoon is the absolute worst! Take Snow Road and detour around to Howells Ferry to Schillingers if you need to go that way coming from Mississippi.

Semmes on Schillingers Rd from Moffet northward between Moffet and Lott Rd. 2 lanes that back up heavily at mainly 5pm rush hour, mainly just the southbound side. Cars will be backed up over 40 to 50 deep and also on Sundays around noon.

I always hated the intersection of Airport and University Blvd, you'll sit there sometimes through three light changes before you get to go.

Hillcrest and Grelot - northbound in the morning; southbound in the evening. I worked at USA and the traffic for the light at Grelot in the evening might stretch all the way to Airport!

Cottage Hill and Azalea intersection (westbound & southbound) when school let's out ... I used to avoid that at all cost.

Luckily when I lived in Mobile I worked night shift, so I got to avoid most of it. I was sleeping during the evening rush hours. ; )

The worst I've seen was on Spring Hill in midtown. It took an hour to get back across the interstate to Old Shell. I've never really had a problem in West Mobile. Nothing that a few minutes sitting at a light wouldn't change. That's just my experience though.

VERY QUICK DETOUR FOR SPRINGHILL!.... Take Stanton Rd and/or Mobile Street until they merge right north of USA Medical Center at Prichard Ave. Prichard Ave takes you straight to I-165, and saves you a buttload of traffic gridlock time and gas money.

You almost have to force your way into the endless stream of northbound departing Downtown workers, when merging onto I-165 en route to I-65.

be warned, people are constantly running the traffic light at Moffett and Howell's Ferry. i used to live in the neighborhood at that intersection and i can't tell you how many times people just blazed through it. 16 wheelers would run it all the time at night. very dangerous.

also, there seem to be a ton of wrecks at Zeigler and University.
