Yup!

Gotta love it, though. Photo was taken in Missoula, mid-January 2011.

I'm basically sick of and disgusted by our 'spring' this year. Blah. Springs in MT are the worst, imo, because of all the overcast skies, slush, and mud. We get more blue skies in the winter I think.

Spring in Montana is better in some places than others.

On the other hand, there were nearly 250 tornadoes in one day last week. Thee are huge floods in many parts of the nation. To save a small town of about 500 homes from the possibility of floods, the U.S. government blew a levy and put a lot of people out of the farming business, and took out 100 homes or more. Fires burning from one border of the state to another. Etc., Etc., Etc.

We in Montana have had wonderful weather lately, compared to so many places.

It's all in your prospective. In the weather forum there was a big discussion on how do you define the 4 seasons. Everybody is posting temps of what they consider a normal spring, winter, summer or fall day is. I, on the other hand said, "Temps have nothing to do with it. Where I live, temps will vary from day to day so there is no NORM."

Spring - Muddy and things are growing. Less snow, more rain.
Summer - Dry and things are maturing.
Fall - Muddy and things are dieing. More snow then rain.
Winter - all plant life is dead, it's cold.

The op obviously wants and expect a warmer climate. Montana is not the place to expect that. NO WHERE in Montana would the OP be please with the climate.

Montana: The cold of Minnesota, the gloom of Seattle, and the snow of Upstate NY.

Default worst coldest and cloudy weather in nation

My post has been right so far ! Alot of people were upset with the post I made but I agree with NYMTman Montana weather in the spring is the worst in the nation, were else do you get clouds every day after day and have more than 2 inches of rain (Billings MT today !) drop in a matter of a few hours and also have a high temp the coldest in the nation well Montana in the spring time ! I don't call it spring ! agian I call it second winter, like I said in my earlier post the second winter usually lasts until mid june sometimes late june, then we have our short summer and back to winter by end of August !
This year we have had more cloudy days than seattle. If you like cloudy cold damp weather Montana is it !
Another thing I get a kick of is with all this rain we have been getting these **** ranchers still dont think we have had enough moisture you see them talking in the stores that "we need the moisture, we will take all we can get" It these same people who complain they have no money but they are driving a $50,000.00 diesel truck.
