One thing the DMV did that is working - you go and pull your ticket, then you can go home or go do other things and monitor the 'being served' numbers on their website ... last year I did that, and it was literally 4 or 5 hours before my number was close to being called up. Was thankful to have that time to be home doing productive things vs. sitting on my ass in that miserable office.
You can call in for an appointment too. They're pretty good about taking the reservations on time.

People are tired of:
- "Diversity" and illegal immigration (with all the resulting social problems)
- Big city issues (traffic, taxes, schools)
- Absurd laws/regulations

Pretty much in that order. I know enough peeps who have moved from places like L.A., Chicago, etc., to smaller and less "diverse" states and cities, and think I have a pretty good handle on their motivations based on candid statements to me.

I agree. There are folks on this board though that don't value the opinions of those fleeing the lawlessness and riots of the more "diverse" and "civilized" places.
I served in a couple wars, and honestly I felt safer in some of them than I did in New York or San Francisco. At least in the Middle East, I was armed and could shoot back.

Yes I agree you got a good point on that.

Liberals generally support individual rights (including civil rights and human rights), liberal democracy, secularism, rule of law, economic and political freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion.....
Careful, you're pushing liberal politics on people right now by even saying that. That's just the default dirty word to a lot of people. You might be a commie, communist, pinko, socialist, (or insert other term from the list) just by mentioning that.

Thanks for proving my point.

"free speech", "political freedom", "rule of law", "freedom of the press"? Yeah, not really a part of the left's toolbox as evidenced above.

Classic liberalism, yeah, they were all about freedom and equal rights. Modern Leftists would make Marx blush with shame.

You are citing classic liberalism no longer in vogue, not the modern woke Leftism so common today among people who self-identify as "liberal".
