Montana wind factor
Hello all, I've read on different blogs here that Montana is windy and was wondering if it is like that throughout the entire state? I don't think we will mind the cold temperature but don't like wind. Can someone help me on this? Thanks a bunch!

Don't have much wind where I'm at...Just once in a while...But I'm surrounded by the mountains here so it doesn't get in. Lincoln County is gorgeous

Not that much wind here in Helena either. I lived east of Colorado Springs for three years and that was one WINDY place.

Montana Wind
In general western MT is less windy than east of the mountains. However, in western MT there are more cloudy, overcast, foggy days in the winter than central and eastern MT, which tend to have more sun.

Thank you all!
Oh thank God! Thank you all for your information on Montana wind. I feel better now... We're still looking to move there once we find a job, which is difficult right now since we are not local. We are not looking for the company to pay for our moving expenses either but we'll just keep looking.

Just remember wind is a friend to run the wind turbines to supply the power to those of us off the grid.
Wind is not always a bad thing.

How many days do you need to warrant building the wind generators? Judith Gap must have plenty with all that are built there. Cant make power without wind, must be very windy, ya think?
