Some of those big V-Twins have an ENORMOUS amount of torque. My bone-stock 1500 Vulcan has a LOT of power.
I'm not a racer, but it appears to me that Street Bikes are better suited to drag racing than are Crotch Rockets. On a straight-line drag, it's hard to keep the front tire of the Crotch Rocket down. Track racing would probably be a different matter entirely.

Like I said, after about 80-90 MPH he passed as he very well should. I'm sure he could outhandle me too. That still doesn't change the fact until about 80-90 MPH he had been HAD!
You will always have to go against the standard which is the Harley. A Harley will always sell better, be easier to find parts for and I believe get more for it. Go with a Harley and you will never say why did I not get a different bike.
I've been riding 35 years, and I still laugh at the guys that buy Harleys. Mostly for the Im cool factor. Old azz technology with geezer appeal. Too many good bikes out now that make them look ancient.
