Remember this? As a matter of fact, I just watched it on one of the retro channels carried by my cable service. Hoacky as heck but immense fun.

20th Century Fox scooped up the right to bring Flash back to a movie theater near you according to The Hollywood Reporter 'Flash Gordon' Movie in the Works at Fox - Hollywood Reporter

My question is – who on earth can play Flash like the original Sam J. Jones? Certainly no current star. Will be fun to see how badly they mess it up.

The soundtrack by Queen was the best thing about the last Flash film.

D'ohhhh, why can't they just digitally re-master it and re-release it instead? Flash is one of my most favorite "worst" movies next to Clash of the Titans (see how well that remake went over? lol)

I agree--there isn't a current star that can play Flash like Sam Jones.

That 1980s version is the single best bad movie ever made. An unequalled classic.

But I'm not opposed to the remake. I hope they play it straight though, rather than being intentionally campy.

I was thinking if they do a re-make, I wonder if it will be like the new Clash of the Titans (2nd best bad movie ). And they need to get rid of the cheesy romance. Who "loves" someone a few hours after they've met? The one part I hate: Flash! Flash! I love you but we only have 14 hours to save the Earth!

If they make it darker and with today's technology there should be some awesome special effects, it might work.

I love the original Clash of the Titans. Another great bad movie. The remake? I fell asleep. It was that thrilling.

That's my favorite line in the whole movie.

No! The idea of a remake is as merciless as Ming himself. Whats next, A remake of Plan 9 from outer space or The killer shrews? These movies are one of a kind, cheesy, fun, best enjoyed with several adult beverages. Out of respect alone-I say no.
