Saw this interesting trailer for a new Dracula movie, Seems to be a more in depth look into the legend. Love the bat tornado he unleashes here. Maybe he is drinking tiger blood!

Meh.

This movie actually should have been titled DRACULA: ONLY THIS ONE IS MORE LIKE GAME OF THRONES.

Funny. But not necessarily a bad thing!
I'm not a fan of CGI for CGI's sake which is one difference I see here. Looks good to me but also looks like maybe too much CGI.
I have loved vampire stories since I was little and my sister used to scare me with vampire stories - I will be keeping an eye for this.

I agree! As much as I love the romanticism (with the exception of "Twilight" because that crap was NOT vampire-like at all LOL), I really do enjoy the darker side and how Vlad the Impaler came to be. I believe it was the History Channel that had a program about vampires and it focused on Vlad. It wasn't sensationalized like "Interview With the Vampire".

Here's the thing I don't understand. There have been dozens of DRACULA movies and TV shows. But no one has ever done the novel. Not once. Some have been more faithful than others. Some have come close. But not a single film maker has ever done a faithful adaptation of the book.

The book has been in print for over a hundred years and continues to sell. Stoker did something right. The films have varying degrees of success, from moderate to flop. Why has no one considered actually doing a faithful adaptation of the book?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I saw the trailer at the theater, he's hot. LOL, though that's not enough to get me back to see it. The bat tornado scene D. Scott mentioned was pretty cool though. There's not a whole lot I'm having a feeling to need to rush to theater to see this summer so far, but who knows, maybe I will, maybe I won't waste some time on it.

Oh wait, I forgot, this isn't coming out till summer, what about that Brad Pitt one, is that coming out this summer? Sigh.

I thought the movie with Gary Oldman and Winnona Ryder was pretty faithful to the book? No? I read the book.....about a century ago
