They definitely couldn't maintain an entire cinematic universe as humorless and grimdark as BvS.

Except BvS isn't humorless.

It's not entirely grimdark, either, in my opinion, but I enjoy that aspect of the DCEU compared to the constantly light 'n fluffy MCU (the Cap movies being the exception).
