I did. When that was announced, I thought it the first indication the movie might be something special.

But did you honestly think he was right for the role at the time? I think a few other actors could have done a fine job.

Yes. After seeing CHAPLIN and WONDER BOYS, I realized what a truly amazing actor the guy was. Perfect Stark-casting. It was a good sign that Favreau was thinking outside the box.

They're buddies. He was really trying to help his buddy. Downey's career was floundering.
