Looks interesting. They're mucking around with the original storyline...I'll be curious to see how purists react. Third time around though...I'll wait for the DVD.

The "purist" are irrelevant, Peter Parker is now in the MCU with their independent canon.
I am certain that this will be the best Spider-man movie, yet.
I am in the minority that did not love any of the Raimi/Maguire films. The Garfield one was okay, but I think this will be better. Marvel know how to do justice to their own characters.
Spidey has a problem in that he really does need the big budget special effects that only a major movie can offer. But there is so much depth to his character, his nemeses, and his family that a two hour movie is never going to do him justice. Spidey really needs a TV series storyline with a movie budget, but I know that isn't going to happen any time soon.
Also, I have to admit I'm getting more than a little tired of the Avengers. I know it's been a huge hit for Marvel and they are going to capitalize on it for as long as they can. But I'd much rather Spidey be his own thing rather than Iron Man's surrogate nephew. I love Robert Downey Jr. as much as the next guy, but come on, Marvel. He doesn't have to be in every single movie.

Raimi's films made big changes from the get-go, and those are still the best films (the first two, not the third).
This movie will be good, but I hope it doesn't rely that much on Stark being around every corner.
Michael Keaton will amaze. The Vulture looks great. We need a villain who does horrible things and isn't watered down (like Sandman does).
The first Spider-Man was pretty good and the best cmb of its time, the second was amazing and STILL is one that is in the conversation for top ten 10 cmb of all time. The Amazing Spider-Man was an attempt at doing Peter Parker in high school but it had some misses despite a lot of good to it. Spider-Man 3 was underrated despite being a mess, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was just a hot mess that shat the bed.
Spider-Man: Homecoming looks AMAZING. This is the high school movie we wanted with The Amazing Spider-Man but never got. Then add in the quick wit and action of most of the Spider-Man movies that seemed to get better reach time and I'm freakin' excited for it.
