Yes, me too! The dog just didn't want to give up and lived the rest of his life waiting for his owner.. It's based on a true story too..

Before watching Grave of the Fireflies, people should watch this short Robert McNamara clip. McNamara was Gen Curtis LeMay's (LeMay: "We scorched and boiled and baked to death more people in Tokyo on that night of March 9-10 than went up in vapor at Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.") assistant during the firebombing of Japanese cities, and he has had second thoughts about what they did:

Just finished “Women Talking”—relatively new release about abuse in a conservative religious colony in modern era
Ending supposed to make you see the power of women and their ability to survive but just reinforces the ongoing strength of misogyny in the world to me…

“The Innocents” about brutality of war/WWII in Poland

“Platoon”
“Full Metal Jacket”
“Manchester By The Sea”
“Still Alice”
“Watership Down”
“Banshees of whatever” I can never remember the town but it is even MORE depressing than “The Lobster”
“Invasion of the Body Snatchers” the newer edition with Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams—that final scene does it

Added this
“the Gift” with Jason Bateman, Joel Edgerton, Rebecca Hall…different kind of Bateman movie

Have seen all of those, some more than once, and I concur with your choices

I would add “The Bad Seed” with Patty McCormick and Nancy Kelly and “Death of a Salesman”
