"Black Sun: The Nanking Massacre". Based of the true story of the Japanese capture of the Chinese city of Nanking in the late 1930's during which some estimated 400,000 people, mostly civilians, were brutalized, tortured and murdered.
I haven't looked at this whole thread, so not sure if this was mentioned or not (I'm sure it has been), but Eraserhead was one bizarre, depressing and in my opinion, stupid movie. I still can't say if I ever truly understood it, but you could probably say that about most of David Lynchs' films.

Fatal attraction, Wondering, They shoot horses, don't they ?
Poltergeist. When the meat starts crawling on the counter, busts open with maggots, and the guy starts tearing his face off. Thirty years later and it still creeps me out.
The first film which really disturbed me was Deer Hunter.
Watched Compliance on Netflix which I found to be very very unsettling
and as well as a possibility of really happening. Could never
watch it again - still trying to forget it.
I would assume not, because they are around the set. See the make up guys, all the cameras, all the production people. They're just a small part of othe bigger movie making machine. I mean, while they're on set, they're at work. It's a job.
We the viewers only see the movie itself and not all the behind the scenes stuff, making it feel much more real.
Maybe it's one of those urban legends but I had heard that working on Poltergeist, Deliverance and The Exorcist had lasting effects on (some) of the actors.
Hostel 1 and 2... easy.. and think that crap really happens out there... ewwwww
Yes same here, I was about to post the exact same thing...those movies shocked me to the core, to think that any human beings could actually be that brutally coldhearted, murderous, and inhuman!!
Also maybe "A Clockwork Orange"...
