I have absolutely no skills or experience in making movies or script writing, but seeing some of the movies that have been given the green light - sometimes I seriously think I can write a better movie script if I applied myself. Am I the only one that thinks like this? I love movies, but see myself only going to the theaters like once a month because it seems like 80% of the releases are crap.

I say go for it. Movies and TV have been steadily going down the drain for years. It's pitiful. I won't even go to the Movie Theater anymore. Why waste the money?

I agree with you. I have a lot of friends in the industry and quite a few "contacts". Ive gotten myself the Final Draft program and have gotten to work.

Most of what is written SUCKS. Many of the writers are not writers at all, but people who just have a love for the movies and want to be successful. Its all who you know, who you sleep with and who's kids are in your kids Hebrew school.

How much can you sell a script for? I might consider it on the side if it pays well. My head is always filled with useless ideas

After watching Mirrors last weekend I have come to the conclusion that movies are made based on who you know and/or sleep with. It really has very little to do with art or talent.

I hope you all start writing & making movies. I think you all have a great sense of humor.

I feel the same way, I probably see a movie once or twice a year.

I just hope that I could come up with something as genius, funny and passionate as the great literary works that are "Beverly Hills Chihuaua" and "Step, Up To the Streets".

I have no experience in the field of entertainment but from what I understand a lot of times the producers get involved and start tinkering with things, having the script rewritten, etc. Plus the fact that who knows what gets cut in editing. No matter how well written the script is key elements could be cut that destroy other parts of the movie.

One of the best writers is Michael Mann and he writes, directs and produces so he can keep better control.

I've sat in many so-called comedies and been able to see the punch lines and gags coming, and realize I've far better dialog. I can't tell you how many times this has happened, and to a lesser degree in regular movies.
