Just saw The Help when we had a free weekend of premium cable. I really had no interest in reading the book but thought I would check out the movie since it was free. Not bad. Still don't want to read the book.

Immortals - better than expected and very very bloody. 3 out of 5 points.

Just saw Hunger Games for the first time. And although I thought it was a pretty good movie, I was kind of surprised of the huge popularity of the movie considering how violent it was against children. Kind of disturbing in a way...

Castle In The Sky. Probably the third or fourth time I've watched it, and I still love it.

We just watched Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It was great for some non-stop action adventure. I don't like seeing killing, but this was not as bad as some. Overall, a riveting entertainment.

Tried to watch Twixt, a 2011 film which sounded very promising... directed by Francis Ford Coppola, starring Val Kilmer. What is it about? No idea.

Basically, giant, puffy Val, who is beginning to resemble latter-day Brando day-by-day, complete with silly teen-girl ponytail, wanders around a small, odd town where everyone seems suspiciously strange for no reason. He carries a cup of coffee, repeats his lines as if he's just woken up onstage in a class play he was forced to perform in & dons a rumpled, beige Colombo rain jacket just to make himself look even less appealing.

He's supposed to be an out-of-ideas writer, caught up in an old murder & visited by a ghost. This was about as scary as when the neighborhood weird kid hides in plain sight then says 'boo'. And, about as interesting as when it's done for the 100th time. "Right, we see ya Johnny. Now go home & get out of our bushes or we'll call your mum." What a waste of talent. I skipped through the entire DVD in 30-min... kept letting it play out 'til it arrived at a good part... never did.

What's the ending? No idea & OMG I don't care. Next time I'm asking myself, "Thriller? FF Coppola? V Kilmer? How'd this one slip by me?"... I'll know the answer. Straight to DVD & your local library's bottom shelf... the one no one ever dusts.

0 * out of 5 & -2 more for Coppola not doing a better directing job by motivating his leading man to at least act like he's in a thriller!

Default I watched half of 2 movies.

With the GF. Second half of The Zookeeper and the first half of Burlesque. Burlesque seemed really great. The Zookeeper was cute. Just the way the timing fell for the cable schedule.
