Infini: Cool sci-fi movie that partially reminded me of a few others but overall, it was unique enough. Decent acting, good action and SFX. I enjoyed it. Rating: 6/10
The Dead Lands: Pretty cool New Zealand action flick about Polynesian warrior tribes. I couldn't tell the time period for sure but guess at least couple of hundred years ago? Rating: 7/10
Re: The Walk... The last sentence may be a spoiler. I've seen Man on Wire, so going to see this at the theater was a no brainer. Several memorable shots that could only be made one way. Nothing but music and credits during the credits, in case you were thinking of seeing real footage of Petit, which you don't need if you've seen MoW. First time going to the closest theater to me - 1 adult $5.15, which was nice. Didn't realize Ben Kingsley was in it.
Saute ma ville (1968), Chantal Akerman ..... ★★★★★
Chantal Akerman, who passed away 5 days ago, is best know for her 1975 masterpiece Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, which she made 6 years before her first film / 12 minute short Saute ma ville. She actually dropped out of film school after one semester to make it. Akerman described Saute ma ville as “the mirror image of Jeanne Dielman”.
