I HAD such high hopes for this movie. Great cast but it was 20 mins before each fight scene talking about peace & some song that made you want to rip your ears off..

You are referring to the Julia Roberts' remake
Watch the original Spanish-language one set in Argentina (I think)
Totally excellent and example of why remakes often can't measure up to their source

Cobra-Less popular Sylvester Stallone film. Stallone plays a renegade cop who has to stop a cult of ax wielding madmen from taking over for their "new world order" in L.A. One of his best films, lots of action, scary, dark and a few dry attempts at humor make this an 80's classic. Character actor Brian Thompson plays the lead baddie who mostly makes angry faces chasing people around as opposed to dialogue. 2 thumbs up!

Clash of the Titans (2010) - IMDb

I'm 50 minutes into the movie and at best, it's "eh"......and that is saying a lot because it is pretty terrible.

It's primary flaw is that there is no character development, one does not care if the heroes live or die.

Spoiler

Further, it seems like whoever made this flick decided to add in things that they thought would be interesting, like maybe something in a reinterpretation from Robot Wars (1993) - IMDb

One of the things in this story is practically an absence of Andromeda. Oh, she's there, an actress plays her, but it seems her romantic interest has been replaced by the introduction of Io into the story though even her story is a rewriting. Io here is no heifer.

Andromeda, to me as an actress, is something of a Patron Goddess. Ie, you cannot play a character unless you can feel the fear in her. I watched this movie to see her portrayed in another way from the 80's flick and was very disappointed to rather not see her portrayed at all.

With my interests in things like belly dancing and renaissance festivals, I tend to watch a lot of movies of this kind, from those in the present to those of the 60's......and this one is probably the worst for it has not even a decent degree of seduction in this flick. Just a lot of good looking people without any chemistry between them.

What a great movie! The directors cut is even better.

Bridge of Spies - pretty disappointing.

They should have focused more on Francis Gary Powers and his situation vs having so much about the Soviet spy. The SOviet spy should have just been portrayed as a simple villain. We hardly saw much of Powers including his capture and how he was treated by the Soviet enemy.

They also didn't portray communism and socialism as evil as it actually was during the Cold War. Hollywood and our liberal education system never go into communist crimes against humanity the way we learn about the Nazis and the Japanese in WW2. I guess that's not surprising we have these government officials, Common Core planners, and liberal teachers who support socialism themselves. Look at how many teachers unions have endorsed Sanders.
