Did anyone mention "The Lost Boys?" Some pretty good vivid imagery and a standard vampire plot reworked for teens. Loved the Frog Brothers.
I have to second "Better off Dead." Lots of quotable lines. No matter how many times I watch it I laugh like a simpleton. John Cusack claims he has never seen it.
I understand how difficult it is to do but I think when people examine older films through today's lens with judgment, something I hear frequently, they miss a subtly of understanding. And with a comedy you can't be too sure what is standard at all.
(I say I understand because watching current comedies sometimes has me scratching my head wondering what is supposed to be so funny.) We're all products of our generation, despite efforts at objectivity.
It just occurs these '80s comedies seemed to hit the spot for me because I had teenagers at that time. We might have seen them differently but they were something we could watch together and maybe even later discuss the points of contention.

Perhaps it hasn't been mentioned because its release predates the 80s by a year, but I adored A Little Romance, especially a 13 year old Diane Lane in the lead role.
And speaking of Diane, how about the excellent film adaptations of the S.E. Hinton classics, The Outsiders and Rumble Fish? Both were masterfully directed by Frances Ford Coppolla.
Other 80's coming of age movies I loved:
Racing With The Moon
The Flamingo Kid
Dirty Dancing
I have to second "Better off Dead." Lots of quotable lines.
"I want my two dollars!"
From the OP list I'd have to go with The Breakfast Club. I think it could be remade for modern times without changing the script one bit, other than changing the clothes a bit and throwing in some phones. I would truly be curious to hear what current teens think about this movie, if it's relatable at all.
