They were almost one and a half hours....regular movie; but I've have only seen them on TV. I think the series was popular and full length in its day.

A lot of the fun is the interaction between ma and pa. They each recognize the others weak points, but don't let it seriously bother their relationship. A lot of people could learn from that.
I totally agree...not always well written. It was Ma and Pa struggling along together and as you say.....complimenting each others' personalities.

Ma stole the show for me and those darn "childrun"...LOL..It was a simpler time with "simple" plots...but it did show people "how to be a couple".

I think they were great family entertainment and are still funny.

Completely agree.

Actually I'm glad you made the thread because it reminded me of ALL the films we would watch on a Saturday afternoon.

My Grandparents were big fans of Ma & Pa Kettle, Abbott and Costello, The Three Stooges, The Road movies with Bob Hope & Bing Crosby and Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis movies.

All great for a laugh together.

Watch Ma And Pa Kettle (1949) Clip Online - VideoSurf Video Search This is the funny movie when they won that "new-fangled" house from the chewing tobacco company; and Pa got accused of plagerizing the slogan that he had sent in for a contest.

I think it was that "salesman".....Billy Reed"....a friend indeed...LOL. The video search engine I used checks...Hulu, Google, TV.com., Youtube, Fancast and many more...but all at once!

I remember watching MA And Pa Kettle movies as a kid and found them to be pretty funny. The networks should air their movies more often.
