I always liked them, but when I was young, they confused me a little. They took place in my home state (Washington) and I, too, lived in a very rural setting along with many American Indians. The movies confused me a little because I didn't know anyone like those people, yet it was supposed to be where I lived!
I just recently watched a couple of the Ma and Pa Kettle movies and laughed all over again. They had a piece of Margery Main, Ma, and she was quite a character herself. Very germphobic, along with other things.

I saw a special about her too....very interesting person and such a shame she got "ripped off" concerning money...she MADE the franchise IMO.
