Right off the bat, I would offer an obvious two, "Bridge over Troubled Water" and "Let it Be"....a couple others.."My Sweet Lord", "Vincent(Don McCleans best, just hearing the first "Starry Starry Night" lines gets you...
Some of the more romantic ballads can do that to you as well, ala "Michelle", "You've got a friend", and so on...and much of romantic country can do that as well...

..Here is a romantic COUNTRY classic written by Kris Krisstofferson.....
I love this everytime I hear it..

Can any break-up song sound so sweet...my god, what a perfectly written song....

I should add most of Cat Stevens early acoustic work, and Gordon Lightfoots', "If you could read my mind"

Any favorites of yours that really get you stirred up, in a melancholy, inspirational, or spiritual way? And dont forget, music can express what words have no hope of doing, so you can only communicate these things through song....trust me..

I don't think people give this guy enough credit.

I read somewhere in a thread that some people don't like Hey Jude. In particular the ending. To me, the chorus is the best part! Those guitar tunes send shivers down my spine. I'll think of more!

How appropriate this CCR classic has been used in countless movies and Die Hard 4 was the last one I know of. It fit this movie to a tee!

Hey Jude is a song that transcends it's immediate purpose..written to console Julian, it really speaks to the human spirit in general..and that end just sweeps all of the 60's up into a rush of "togetherness", so to speak...
and don't forget McCartney going off like Little Richard, at the end, whooping it up as good as Lennon ever did!
