I play flute. I think you will get a zillion posts from people who play instruments.

What kind of advice are you seeking?

I was hoping for a recommendation for a good workbook (especially to take up alternative styles like fiddle playing) . I found this forum fittingly called "fiddleforum" so I'll just get some advice there. But if you have any suggestions, let me know! Especially for "play along" type workbooks.

I sometimes trick people into thinking I can play violin. If you want another forum to peruse, there's Fiddle Hangout as well.

Country+Blues+Rock+Metal+Bluegrass=Jason. Who would have thought you could have a dirty, heavily distorted electric guitars playing power chords, acoustic guitars, violins or (fiddles lol), banjo, drums and maybe a mandolin (I'm not 100% sure on that) all playing together at the same time? Hell yeah is what I'm talking about!!! LOL

Probably my favorite is Mellencamp once again. The fiddles are what makes it work! That and John is on the same team as I am!
