Just because I absolutely love this musical number, I'll do "Y", too!

You Never Looked So Beautiful!! - YouTube
Actually, the lead-in number is titled "You", which is followed by the song in the ID line. Every time I watch this, I'm truly amazed how those chorines danced on those moving beds=O "The Great Ziegfeld" won the Best Picture Oscar that year. Is it any wonder?!

Z or A

EDIT: Here's another number from the film, which is a much clearer copy. I wish "You" would be this clear! Crazily, they dubbed Dennis Morgan, whose voice I prefer. This is a spectacular film, very enjoyable, with William Powell excellent as Florenz Ziegfeld.

^^^ In an odd sort of way, it almost makes me think of "Barbarella"...

While this makes me think that sometimes cover songs work out really well...

Soooo... Striptease with credits is innovative, wouldn't you say? I thought so till I saw this film again after many decades:

^^^ LOL! I think strip-tease has been handed down from caveman days. I'm not that old of course, but I HAVE heard stories! Otherwise, I was thinking more of the fantasy and escapism elements in Busby Berkeley's movies and others of that era as against the just plain completely divorced-from-reality aspects of Barbarella. The older has of course aged much better than the younger, but on some level, I think there may be a vague commonality there.

So now, let's move on to explore the escapist dark side of Joni Mitchell...
