Quiet is underrated and most music overrated. Maybe that's another thread? Popular songs that we hate from the past. Like my all time worst, "American Pie"
Augiedogie suggested it, so I made it happen.
Post the title and artist of songs from the past that make you cringe when they are played.
I'll start with just a few (although I could name dozens off the top of my head):
"Livin' La Vida Loca" - Ricky Martin
"Macarena" - Los del Rio
"Mrs. Steven Rudy" - Mark McGuinn
"Summer Nights" - Grease soundtrack
"Me & Bobby McGee" - Janis Joplin
anything by The Cranberries, Taylor Swift, boy bands, or grunge
I'd have to go with this absolutely infantile POS, "Sugar Shack" by Jimmy Gilmer. This thing drove me nuts, it must have been played every hour for a year,

""Last Christmas" by anyone
"Macarena" by Los del Rio
"She Bangs" by Ricky Martin
any Abba song
any Taylor Swift song from her second album or later (besides "You Belong With Me")
Cringe-worthy songs for me are: The Pina Colada Song, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, Muskrat Love, Afternoon Delight, any Monkees song, any song by Herman's Hermits, any song by Aaron Neville, and my all-time most cringe producing, assault to the ear is....wait for it....Achey Breaky Heart. Uuuugh!
