I started with an Ibanez acoustic electric. mostly because of price and it wasn't as thick as a traditional acoustic so it felt better. Later I played mostly a Yamaha nylon before it got stolen and i found a used Parkwood H4 when I had that W. Bush tax rebate in hand.
For the last six years or so I have been mainly a bass player for my church. Like I did with the Parkwood and the acoustic electric in the first guitars I got a Squier P/J as a jack of all trades and though it would be considered a stater it has served me well and upgrading is low on the priority list. I used a Zoom B2 and my upgrade to a B3 as a multi effects/ DI box before I got a Carvin MB15 micro combo amp.
I love a good Les Paul or 335 and several other Gibby models, but as far as what I've owned and played most over the years, I'm partial to the Fender Telecaster. I finally found a Strat I like real well, but it's auxiliary to the Tele.
Since I started playing over 35 years ago, I've played more bass than guitar. Bass is really my first instrument but I do play a lot of guitar.
Used to gig a ton all through the 80s and 90s until my kids came along. Would love to get back into it someday.
Ive been playing for a long time. Just sold off a lot of stuff, but right know have two Teles and a Strat with humbuckers instead of single coils. I love guitars! Always trying to start bands, but they never work out, so mostly I sit on the couch and annoy my cats.
Ive owned a variety of guitars, strat, several lp knockoffs and an epiphone lp and another Ibanez but currently own a mid 90s reissued Iceman, Japanese, not Korean, thru a Silver Jubilee 25th annivesary 2555 Marshall. I also own a Guild acoustic.
Guitars:
Fender USA Strat
Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top Pro
Greg Bennett guitars RL3, RL4, TR2, and an AV7 (The AV7 is a sweet guitar).
(those Greg Bennetts are all for sale if anyone is shopping).
Takamine acoustic
Applause Acoustic electric.
I find myself more of a lead guy so I favor Gibson style guitars (humbuckers) but I like my Fender strat for rythmn guitar.
I would love to have a brand new 2015 Gibson les paul standard. But I think they are way to expensive. They need to come back down to earth. This makes me bypass their Epiphone line and head straight for Fender MIMs instead. It seems pretty obvious what Gibson is doing. They raised all their prices on Gibson branding and lowered it slightly on Epiphone hoping to chase some into the Epiphone line and have them gravitate to its big brother.
I also have a Line 6 Floor pod plus
Mustang I (for sale also) and a Mustang III v.2 (not for sale)
I also have a Ditto looper pedal
I don't do any gigging so this is all just a hobby for me.
I've been playing for 22 years now, play mostly acoustic.
