If you want to go real old school here try "at war with satan" or anything else by Venom.
I loved that album back in the day! Venom was probably the first of the true death metal bands. Sabbath started the dark descent, but Venom took it to the next level.
Slayer, what else can be said. They have been playing kick a**, take no prisoner and make no excuses heavy farking metal for decades. They will never sell out like the band that shall not be named.
Satyricon is pretty heavy, I like their stuff. Volcano is one of the best death metal albums I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.
The majority of my metal preference is a little more mellow though. Priest, Maiden, Megadeth, Shadows Fall, Anthrax, Metal Church, Ozzy, Queensryche, Mercyful Fate. I can go on and on but you know what I mean.
Honestly I'll listen to anything beside modern country or rap. I'll always come back to metal though.
"If you don't understand what I mean, F****ing listen to Venom's Acid Queen!"
The whole cd is just perfection!!!
Which is funny b/c I usually just listen to death metal and all that it entails....

I prefer A Blaze in the Northern Sky ("In The Shadow Of The Horns") Transylvanian Hunger, and especially "Too Old Too Cold" (as I'm both.) Darkthrone's new Black N' Roll Is cool and well executed but Venom already did that awhile ago.
The Above Post Is mine (I believe I screwed something up while trying to use quotes) , I'm IndySIN" and I prefer "A Blaze In The Northern Sky" ( "In The Shadow Of The Horns") Transylvanian Hunger and especially "Too Old Too Cold" (as I happen to be both) Darkthrone's newer Black N' Roll is cool and well executed but Venom already did that awhile ago.
While for extreme vocals, that has to be a tie between Arch Enemy, Opeth, and Napalm Death.
