But I'm more of an independent person when it comes to hip hop music when I'm around people my age, but I can care less. When I'm at parties, I'll be fine with today's hip hop music, because like you said, the beats are sick.

I just think when it comes to Hip hop, good Lyrics is key. Hip Hop with little or crappy lyrics is why the "Hip Hop is dead" quote is always tossed around these days.
Hey its good to be indepenant. I understand where you are coming from

The thing is that 808s was emphasized and was the sound in many parts of the South. Florida has been doing the bass since the early 80s and it spread throughout the South.

NWA is great, but 2pac is overrated. And I love NaS and Biggie. Jay-Z kind of dominates the game as of now too. More than Dre at least.

Neither! I prefer Classic Rock...Pink Floyd; Steely Dan; Led Zeppelin; Moody Blues; Todd Rundgren; The Who; Alice Cooper; Genesis; Elton John; Aerosmith; Rick Wakeman; Mamas and the Papas; Renaissance, etc.

Yeah I know,I can't remember the name of the group right now for some reason but I know it was a group out of MIA I think that really brought the 808's to the scene.

Pac was a workhorse. He put out a lot of material but some of it was straight trash. Lyrically, he wasn't on Nas or BIG'S level.

None of pac's music was straight trash, and maybe so nas and big were better lyrically, but pac put out better much more meaningful music.

i completely agree...the same can't be said for Nas though *cough* Nastradamus *cough* ...Now that was some trash, relatively speaking. I remember buying it after loving Illmatic and It Was Written, and thinking "what the hell is this?"

Biggie isn't exactly free and clear here either. "I live out there so don't........go there," was one of the weakest lines of that era that really jumped out at you since it was so awkward. Of course Mase was hard to top in those days once he spit out, "And please no hickeys cause wifey's with me."

I don't know what Pac ever put out there that was "straight trash," but I can think of quite a few Biggie and Junior Mafia tracks that I don't ever care to hear again!
