I think maybe you're confused. A poster said that his friends will copy CDS for him, another poster responded with "you can call it sharing but you're still a thief" which is what I've been responding to.
You misunderstood me. I was directly addressing the use of the terms "file-sharing and pirating" as euphemisms. I never referred to someone borrowing a CD as stealing.

Oh ok I thought you were referring to the post that was directly above yours.
I love the feel of a physical object in my hands with liner notes, artwork and all that but if I can't buy it on iTunes or Amazon I'll steal it with AVC (Any Video Converter).
No regrets, no guilt ... if you want to make money from it then make it available for me to purchase.
I could not "steal" music with a clear conscience. Owning music is not a 'right', and those artists are not out there to give us free anything. I did notice a spike in concert ticket prices since the advent of the now-defunct Napster, and I really do think it has to do with the drop in cd sales. (Can anyone confirm this?)

No one buys CDs anymore because they suck. Seriously, these artists will admit they work a only a week on a whole album and actually expect us to buy it??
Most albums are filled with fillers and crappy songs that are only popular because of their redundant choruses (Beyonce or Lil Wayne anyone??)

I still buy CDs. Bought 3 in the last month.
I don't buy CDs from artists that I suspect only spent a week on the whole album though and I don't own any CDs from Beyonce or Lil Wayne.
