I don't believe anyone has mentioned this yet but Jack Greene, longtime Grand Ole Opry star whose "There Goes My Everything" won single of the year by the Country Music Association in 1967, died Thursday night, March 14, 2013, in Nashville. He was 83.
Some of us recall when he was with Ernest Tubb's band.
Sad News High Plains. Hadn't heard about this. RIP Jack. Ole Ernest was good to all his band members.
Yes it was sad news. Last summer my wife I went to an estate sale at Lubbock where I found a signed 8x10 B&W pic of Ernest Tubb at his bus with his band. Jack Greene was also in the pic and had also signed the photo. They must have signed a lot of these photos as I found the attached one on Yahoo. Mine is the same as this one except that my photo includes Johnny Wiggins "The Singing Bus Driver" standing to the right of Tubb who is standing in the door of the bus.
