1) Buck Owens and the buckaroos - especially Tiger by the tail. My father loved it, and you couldn't pull him away from watching HeeHaw!
2) Johnny Horton - Battle of New Orleans - heard it constantly while getting drunk with my section sergeant in the ville in Toko-ri, outside Camp Hovey, Korea in '78-'79 ! Good Times!
3) Loretta Lynn
4) Glen Campbell
5) Merle Haggard - Okie from Muskogee, more recently I discovered If we make it through December and much more of his music
6) Ronnie Milsap - love him even more now, Smokey Mountain Rain is always in my head, but I love all his songs
7) Johnny Cash - A boy named Sue
8) Waylon Jennings - Luckenbach, Texas - Had a roommate in the Army from Michigan who would play this endlessly, along with Mama, don't let your babies grow up to be Cowboys.
9) Lynn Anderson - Rose garden - what teenage boy in the 70s didn't have a crush on that blond-haired, blue-eyed babe?
10) Don Williams - I really appreciate his music now. A true golden-throated artist.
Those are the main ones that stick out, but there are probably some I'm missing.
