Porter Wagoner? Not one of my favourites, although I did see a clip on You tube with a very young, straight arrow Willie Nelson on the Porter wagoner Show
Really like Loretta and George ,as well as the Carter Family and a lot of old time country
.Must admit I haven't heard of some of the Singers in this thread; that's great! I'll check 'em out on Youtube, buy a few CD's if i can get them on Ebay
Also like Iris dement, but I guess she's old news to you
It was recently announced that one of my most favorite male singers has Alzheimer's Disease. I've been a fan of the beautiful precious Hal Ketchum ever since "Small Town Saturday Night" went to radio and so you can imagine what this news has done to me, especially when I came across as way too overzealous during the one and only time that I finally got to see him after being too young to be allowed where most of his tour dates took place which was on October 1, 2005 at Dolly Wood. Sadly I know all too well what Alzheimer's does to a person from watching it tear through an aunt that I used to have. (I pray that Hal isn't a smoker like she was.....when she forgot how to smoke, the Lord is who kept her home from going up in flames!) I love to watch Hal smile at the end of this video so much. I pray that his ability to do that much never goes anywhere, I love him so much.
God bless you and him and his family always!!!
