I have looked at houses that fit all my needs in these two locations except the location is not where I wanted. I have wanted to stay in the Murrells Inlet/Pawleys Island zipcodes for schools and resale.
What are so e opinions/thoughts on the two areas I mentioned above in the title.

Would anyone reading this that knows the areas consider purchasing a house in either area in the mid 200's, why/ why not?

Otherwise I need to compromise and give up space (inside and outside) as well as some upgrades in order to afford the areas I want.

You may need to clarify. Is the Deerfield location on Deerfield Links Drive? If so, what schools is the house zoned for?

Deerfield Links Drive is east of 17, and the location looks very convenient to me. Surfside Beach is just a small mailing address in the general Murrells Inlet area.

The Brandy Mill subdivision which I found on the map has an address in Myrtle Beach off Socastee Blvd. There is nothing wrong with the location. There are ranch houses on fairly large lots. What are you concerned about? Do you need the status symbol of a Murrell's Inlet address?

I am afraid of buying in the wrong area for resale and for schools. We do not have kids yet but are planning on it. I just know that the values of some homes/communities have gone down and I want to make sure where I buy I the value will stay or go up.
Coming from Charlotte, it is all about the schools. You could lose money if you buy in the wrong school zone because parents do not want to send their kids to a low rated school.
