I'm aware of the biker rallies and general busyness in Myrtle Beach,so I've heard I should look in places like Murrells Inlet...but they still have biker rallies & junk there too I've read.
Where would be a quieter place near MB then...North MB perhaps in that area?
Murrells Inlet does have many of the bike week events during the Harley Bike Week & the Oct Bike Weekend. Most of it is down along Business 17 and at the SBB on 17 Bypass. It really does not effect the back end of Murrells Inlet along 707 or any of the communities west of 17. If you want to base where you live on 13 days out of the year, the Grand Strand is not for you. But the other 352 days are great!
It would easier to list the busier places in SC than list the quiet ones. Yes, NMB is quieter than MB but NMB is still a very active community. I am not exactly sure what you are looking for? If you want quiet maybe you should look out in Aynor, Longs or Loris. I don't know much about Summerville.
Other than no bike rallies, what qualities are you looking for in a place to live?
Joe, Pawleys is a pretty quiet place to live. It is close enough to Myrtle Beach that we can get to the mall, airport etc in under 30 minutes. We can be in downtown Charleston in just over an hour. Otherwise it is a nice, quiet beachtown. Of course we experience an increase in traffic during the summer, but coming from NYC it hasn't been an issue to me. Plenty of local shopping (3 major supermarkets with another on the way) and great restaurants. Being a quasi-tourist destination & a high-end housing market, I have found the store prices somewhat higher than other parts of the state.

Philadelphia is a tourist spot I think but I don't think the supermarket prices are higher than the rest of the state,at least in the suburbs. Housing is definitely shot out here!
So is the whole SC coast higher priced like that also?
I just moved to Murrells Inlet and I love it!Very quiet yet close to everything. The biggest misconception is people think that you live out in the middle of the strip...not true.Just normal little communties.
Saw some bikes on my way into my subdivison but doesn't bother me.I live less than a mile from Suck Bang Blow ~Four Corners but once the gate comes down behind me what do I care what happening down the road?
