This place is basically a place for people who are NOT truly happy on the inside -- the way the local government sets things up here in SWFL is ridiculous. Almost everyone here has some kind of mental illness or is just flat our a sociopath.

Tell me something POSITIVE about Naples or SWFL in general. There is almost NONE.

Never lived in such a backwards, rude place in my entire life.

NAPLES, Florida is the exact definition of place that is backwards, ignorant, and rude. People here are the WORST --

If you disagree, please let me know. I can point out the flaws for you.

Thanks for your thoughts

Also, are you a permanent resident? Are you truly happy with yourself? Are you a narcissist? Are you "rich"? Do you have a history of mental illness?

No, but I could chose to be.
Yes I am.
I don't think so.....
Not even close.
I have been called nuts, but not by a professional.

I absolutely love Naples. I have really, really nice neighbors and friends who live here. I haven't met a psycho yet. So what happened to drive you to this opinion OP???

kc evidently tired of bashing on the Ft Myers board and now graces us with his/her presence. On the bright side, kc will never move to Naples so that makes me happy.

-Seasonal, but so what...
-Yes, happy with self, my life, fam, situation(s), friends, etc.
-Narcissist definition(s):
1.Excessive love or admiration of oneself.
2. A psychological condition characterized by self-preoccupation, lack of empathy, and unconscious deficits in self-esteem.
3. Erotic pleasure derived from contemplation or admiration of one's own body or self, especially as a fixation on or a regression to an infantile stage of development.
4. The attribute of the human psyche characterized by admiration of oneself but within normal limits

-Not a shrink or Psych, but other than I have some self-admiration, (what human doesn't?), I don't think I am a narcissist.

-Define 'rich'? Comfortable yes, debt free yes, some dough in the bank yes...worked hard, saved like a squirrel, no one 'gave me' much of anything other than an opportunity.
-Again, no self psychiatry, but no mental illness in the fam, or myself.

With all of the possible topics, themes and opinions to express on this forum, or most like it, the OP's chosen topic is less than reasonable, and fairly typical of the 'toss an aerosol can on the campfire' approach, imo.
Good Luck,
mD

We are thinking of buying in Naples but worry about fitting in. We live in Massachusetts and have a couple dogs, 2 bunnies and two ducks. We love gardening and it seems like Naples is for golfers mostly.

It always happens when temperates drop here but we wonder if there are any warm communities in Florida that would work. Has anyone out there moved from New England for feedback?

Funny. In my three years of spending much of the year in Naples, you, KC, are the only person that I would label "rude".
