Were looking for a small town (maybe 7000 or more) with a good quality of life, access to jobs, decent schools & a nice community, we would need to have some land for our horses too.

We love where we live now but want to get out of Southern California, the town we live in is western themed & people ride their horses everywhere, horse events in town & there are horse trails instead of side walks through the whole city.

Is there anywhere kinda like this?

There are plenty of rural areas with land for your horses, the catch for me is finding a small community with 7,000 or more people.

The first place that springs to my mind is Dickson because I used to work with a lady that lived there & commuted to Nashville everyday. Here is their wikipedia link: Dickson, Tennessee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't know much about public horse trails, I had a horse growing up but we had our own property to ride on. I know in Nashville there are only 2 public trails, but I don't know too much about what the outlying areas have to offer in that regard.

Here is a website you can use to look for available land: http://www.realtracs.com/PropertySearchMap.aspx

Best of luck.

^^^Yes, I would much rather live in Arrington than Dickson, especially with the vineyard

Honestly, I can name a lot more outlying areas that I would want to live in over Dickson but the whole small town thing with at least 7,000 people threw me off. That might be a tough one, unless they're willing to waiver on that.

What about Wilson County between Mount Juliet and Lebanon? Lots of land out there but there is a decent-sized town (25,000+) three miles in either direction.
