Relocators buying homes or those who recently bought homes would like to hear where to get affordable home insurance.

I had mine at an affordable price of $548/mo last year but now got a letter stating it went up for this year to $748!!!! Company is Alfa Alliance Insurance Corp.

Please suggest, preferable affordable and does not increase much per year.

We had a lot of bad storms last year, and many companies have adjusted their rates. Try an independent agent that can shop around for rates.

I'm dreading this year. We had AIG when we first moved here, but then 2 years ago they raised our rates from around $1k to 3k. We switched to hanover and it went back down to about $1k. I just have a feeling it will be going up significantly even though we've never made a claim.

We used Zander Ins. to switch and last year they checked to make sure we were still getting the lowest rate without us doing anything when it came to renewal last year.

I hope you meant $548 a year, not per month.
