My husband and I are moving to the Nashville area in 4 months. My daughter is going to a private school at Bethlehem Loop Road, Franklin and my husband is working on the west side of Nashville, Centennial Blvd. Can anyone recommend a good affordable area where we could find a rental for a year until we buy in between the two places? Thanks!

It depends on your budget.

You could look in the Bellevue area (I live there). It would be very convenient to Centennial Blvd., and not a bad drive to the north side of Franklin, which is where Bethlehem Loop is.

Some of the other "in between" places would be expensive (in some cases very expensive).

I think there are condos/duplexes almost across from Grassland Middle school.... River Rest? that location would be great, not sure if they do rentals but worth inquiring. Otherwise I think you may be looking over at bellvue, close to route 100 - I think there are condos there, across from Percy Warner, before you get to Vaughn's Gap road.

My only other suggestion is to look at the specific HOA web sites - occasionally people may want to sublet a property in a subdivision... as suggestions Fieldstone Farms which is only 5 minutes from your daughter's school. Also Temple Hills, which is between your daughter's school and work. Hunterwood, Battlewood, Sunnyside - are all in the right location for you,, but you would have to stumble into a sublet, but may be worth checking.

Fieldstone Farms is a very good suggestion. You may want to check Cottonwood too. You might also try looking in Grassland area but I suspect that will require mostly driving around looking for signs in yards.

Traceside in Bellevue would be another option if there are any rentals. You'll find more complexes in Bellevue

You can look for rentals on realtracs.com. If you put "Fieldstone Farms" in the subdivision (or "Grassland" or "Cottonwood" or "River Rest") houses in those areas should pop up. At the moment in FF, the cheapest is $1800. You might find something in the $1400 range but probably not much lower than that. But it is a family friendly area in a central location. I like River Rest too.

There's one for $1800. What is your rental budget?
