Bill and Shannon Miller, co-founders of the Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline Museums, announced their latest venture honoring a country music icon: the Merle Haggard Museum and Merle's Meat + Three Saloon.

Slated to open in Summer 2018, the museum will feature instruments, clothing, memorabilia and other artifacts that belonged to Haggard, who died in 2016 on his 79th birthday.

Merle's Meat + Three Saloon will be, according to its logo, "powered by Swett's." The Swett family, and their eponymous, down-home restaurant, have been keeping Nashville fed for over 60 years.

Both facilities will be located at 121 Third Avenue S, next to the Cash and Cline museums.

I am glad your all happy but with all this explosion of building going on will bring in more crime, murders, trash. Say goodbye to a nice southern town.

A couple of large projects have been announced in the last few days for the southwestern part of downtown:

Nashville-based The Mainland Cos. provided a glimpse on Wednesday of the 30-story office tower the developer plans across Korean Veterans Boulevard from Music City Center, where law firm Baker Donelson is believed to be among potential tenants.

In releasing the new renderings, Mainland said it had submitted design and concept drawings to the Metro Development and Housing Agency's design review committee.

Mainland said construction should start this year on One KVB, which will be the first high-rise commercial office development on the west side of Nashville’s south of Broadway district. It will include roughly 475,000 square feet of office space, about 25,000 square feet of street-level and mezzanine retail space, and on-site parking.

Is law firm Baker Donelson headed to Mainland's One KVB office tower?

McGavock Street Partners will go before Metro Planning Commission in December to request height modification for a 21 story hotel with 470 rooms and a 200 seat entertainment venue. No hotel brand has been announced yet.

The hotel will be at the NW corner of McGavock Street and 13th Ave. South fronting I-40/65.

This incredible Nashville development appears to be planning for success along the lines of the "Hudson Yards," NYC's massive development on Manhattan's westside--covering the formerly "deemed unusable" railyards/tracks":

That will really make that part of downtown/No. Gulch nice. Reminds me a little of LA Live in downtown LA.

I'm glad that Lifeway building is going away. The cheap cross made that whole part of the downtown look third-rate.

I just streetviewed 10th Ave. and realized that I have never driven that road. It has almost been Lifeway's exclusive driveway since the 70s or 80s. No street activity at all.

A Chicago deep-dish pizza place and a Montreal-style deli... Nashville is getting a lot of cool stuff these days in addition to shiny new buildings. Gotta head up there soon.

Shake Shack, the popular burger chain that started as a food cart outside of Madison Square Park in New York, will open its first Tennessee location in the new Hill Center development in the Green Hills area in mid-2018. Currently, the only other Shake Shack locations in the Southeast are in Atlanta, Miami, and Orlando. A Shake Shack spokesperson said they're hoping to open additional locations in downtown Nashville and in Williamson County
