Yeah, we sort of adopted him, and he adopted the Nashville area in return. A native of Mississippi, he made his home in Nashville even after his days as a Tennessee Titan were over. Few things would have endeared him to Nashvillians more than that.

RIP, Mr. McNair.

Default R.I.P Steve McNair

Very sad day here in TN with the news of Titan quarterback of 13 years Steve McNair was found dead with gunshot to the head in Nashville.

Sigh. Such a waste. As soon as we heard her age and the other circumstances (the DUI, he owned her Escalade etc.)...it was pretty obvious what happened. How terribly sad for his family.

I'm having a hard time buying the ex-boy friend's story, “He was making her believe they were going to be together and everything would be perfect.” . Twenty year old tramps just don't up and kill them self and their money tree.

Norfleet said" they’d been speaking a lot recently and she planned to break it off with McNair. He said she banged on his apartment door early Saturday morning, but she left before he could get to the door. He spent much of Saturday afternoon looking for her and trying to find out if she was the woman who died with McNair." Yea right, stay tuned.......

I've been around way too many NFL players and groupies, sorry I'm not buying it.

Tragic scenario, but that is what could and does happen when one plays the field while married. Feel badly for his wife and kids. Someday we will all be watching this on "Snapped" the show on the Oxygen channel.

Have they tested Norfleet for gunpowder residue?

I haven't heard, but I doubt it. My guess is they already know exactly what happened (if not the why), but are keeping close-mouthed for now because this is a national story and they don't want to end up with egg on their face.

No one deserves to die like that. Wasn't Steve married? What was he doing with a woman 16 years or so younger than him? Nevermind. I hope that his family finds peace and healing.
