Hello,
We are looking for a barn in the area of Clarksville (or at least 30 minutes away from exit 1). My daughter has a 7 yr. old thoroughbred that has been training in PA as a hunter. Any suggestions?

I'm going to venture a guess and say that there aren't too many in that area. I looked in the Clarksville phone book under Horse Training and there are only 2 listings, one is eventing/dressage, the other is more starting/problem-solving. There is a small place near me (about 15 min south of Clarksville) but I know he is dressage also. I think hunter/jumper is probably a little more popular in Williamson County (Franklin would be one town). You could also try calling a local Clarksville area vet (as an aside to the vet situation around Clarksville - be forewarned, there are very few and they operate differently than what we were used to in the northeast). You also might try looking over the border in KY, I'm not familiar with that area but there may be something there. Also, the Springfield area (Robertson County) has some horse barns, though it is a little distance away.
I tried an internet search and did not come up with much that lists hunter/jumper. Two in Franklin, too far away but you might be able to call them and see if they know of anyone closer to Clarksville.
This should help - there is a "Middle Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association (website MTHJA) - they ought to be able to provide you with information.

There is a couple in the area and I know there is a riding club. I will have to do some checking to see if I can find the exact locations. Are you looking to board a horse at a place with riding facilities?

If OP or anyone else is still looking for hunter/jumper barn near Clarksville, there is a Craigslist ad (Services Offered/Farm & Garden) for a new h/j barn opening this fall.
