Not only are they selfish human idiots they were wasteful and inconsiderate of the circle of life. At least eat the dolphin once you've killed it or feed it to a shark or something. May they all be eaten by sharks or stung by jellyfish. Hey this could be a cool novel about when intelligent sea creatures fight back!

I don't know the situation over there. The benefit of the doubt would like me to think that they were ignorant, getting into the "mob mentality", as opposed to knowing full well they were killing the poor thing.

Too bad they weren't doing selfies with wild land animals... That 4-legged antelope-like creature that's 40 meters away will be right up your doorstep before they know it, providing nature's response to the selfie

They obviously didn't know they were killing the dolphin. They're just stupid, like the average person is. Look how many of them have sunburn, and seem to be unaware of it or not care. I bet if they had any idea they were killing the dolphin, they would throw it back in the water to save it. I wonder what sounds it was making. Dolphins need a way to tell people they're being hurt.

I'm far from an animal rights activist, but this just utterly disgusted me.

It's pretty simple:

Leave wild animals alone.

If you see an animal that is beached, the answer is to put it back in the water, not dance around it with your cameras for selfies.

If you see an animal that is injured, call the proper authorities to handle it.

If the two aforementioned issues are not occurring, leave wild animals alone.

Worse than stupid, careless. Bet your bottom dollar they are smart enough to know they wouldn't survive under water any more than the dolphin would survive out of water. They just didn't care about the dolphin, too wrapped up in themselves.

This could have and probably would have happened at any beach in the entire world. Because people are self absorbed aholes as a rule.

Out of all that huge crowd, you'd think there would be ONE person who loves animals and realized the distress it was in. I would have snatched that thing out of their hands (if I could have gotten close enough) and ran to the water with it.

I've never ever touched a dolphin but I have enough sense to know that it needs to be in the freaking water.
