In my town. 30 Days. That's it.

Yep. We had a family purchase a few acres. Put a nice tag along camper on property for the Summer.
Some folks went ballistic. Next came a petitioned town warrant article to prevent people from doing more then 30 days. It was voted on at town meeting and passed. 30 days. No more. In this Live Free or Die hick town.

You are allowed to park on in your driveway. But you cannot live in it more then 30 days.

That depends on the state. Only land that is your's is patent land (first deed), which is land that I grew up on.

A land patent is a document recording the passing of a land title from the Federal government to the patentee/grantee. This is the first-title deed and the true beginning of private ownership of the land. The patent describes in legal terms the land to which the title is given.

The only thing you really own is the home built on it.

I remember this article from before the the wonderful year of 2020 got into full swing.

Dude has 8.1 acres of land, but couldn't live in his RV. Of course if he was living in his driveway like the picture indicates it might even annoy me.

Wink Candorville (I read it for the articles, really!)

Today's Candorville sums it up in comic strip form.

Dude has no septic on the property. He needs unspecified "permits" and septic. That's no different than any other homeowner.

The Dude has a holding tank for any waste. That holding tank can be pumped.

Outhouses are still legal in New Hampshire.

Jeff Lebowski thanks you.

Sounds to me that with a functioning RV (both potable and black water tanks) he had the water and sewer handled.

Does he have existing septic or sewer on his property?
