Yeah, one person's freedom is another person's eyesore. And as someone else pointed out, these restrictions come at least as often from initiative from the town's residents as from the local government itself. For any town though, it should all be codified and written down and the local CEO should be able to advise on the regulations. So there shouldn't be any surprises if one does their homework.

Building inspector in our town said it was New Hampshire state law that you could only use a camper for seven calendar days per year

It doesn't affect me, but that seems a bit overreaching in my opinion.

Talking State of NH only cares about getting their tax payment for your RV, not what you do with it on private property

If that's true, then somebody should be able to cite the relevant RSA.
