Do you like real trees or fake and why do you?

Default Xmas trees

Definitely real for me. The aroma of a real fir reminds me of the forests up north. I came from upstate NY and miss it. All of my childhood memories have the real tree and its scent. On the flip side of it though, I hate the tree to last such a short time. Mostly my yearning for the north wins, though some years I have had none.

To me fake is just that-fake.

I've grown up with fakes trees, had the same fake tree for almost 20 years. By the end, it was looking like a Charlie Brown tree; totally skimpy until you put the lights and ornaments on it When we moved to CA real trees were available and cheap, so we did that for a few years. When I got married we lived in a small apt so for the last 5 years we've put out this 20" tree with fiber optic lighting. LOVE it! Every year we bought a couple new ornaments. When we move again we'll probably get a full size tree and put the small one in the playroom. Real or fake haven't decided yet. Real could be a fire hazard, and it's one more tree gone each year. OTOH Fake, if you worry about lead in the cords and plug, yada yada yada.

Real...but, we used a fake for several years when the kids were younger because we thought the real tree was making their asthma worse. Found that even with the fake tree their asthma didn't improve.

This year we didn't even put up a Christmas tree because of our PIA year-old-cat. No amount of rope could have held a tree up from Jo-Jo aka "Mr. Big."

Talking you can buy spray for the nice smell

we bought a nice fake one with lights made right on it. i figure the less i have to spend on a tree the more money i can spend on dear wifey. and that makes her very happy not to mention we don't have to worry about our 6 cats ripping it apart

I prefer the smell of a real tree...........OR I could get one of those awesome Yankee Candles that smell like a real tree. We bought a fake white tree a couple years back.......just to be different and well, fun! We use the multi colored lights, it's a little cheesy and a whole lot fun!

Always real. You just cant beat that fresh pine smell. Ahhh, I love it. The smell of the tree with the fireplace crackling in the background. Sigh, I wish it was Christmas time

We have been using a fake tree, But I really miss the smell of a fir tree. The only thing my wife does'nt like is vaccuming the needles from the carpet. They seem to appear after you think they are all picked up. But I think I talk her back to a real one. I'll tell her I'll vaccum.
