Favorite Winter Escape?
I was just talking the other day to a friend about how I think I'll handle winter here... in a nutshell I think I will embrace it with open arms until January 30 and tolerate it fine until Feb 28...and slog through March like everyone else (I have decided that March weather sucks in 90% of the country ).
I've also planned The Great Escape in February (as I have come to call it...don't care where, but it has to be somewhere 65F or more). The current plan is to go bareboat sailing in the Keys with our best friends, sans kids.
So where's your favorite Warm Escape in the winter?

You didn't say anything about how you're going to make it through April....
The only trip I have planned this winter is a few weekends on the slopes of Tahoe I'm sure they have a fireplace that will be warm.

In April Spring is either here or so close you can taste it... the excitement of "it's (almost) here, it's (almost) here...!" will carry me through. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

There's nothing worse than a few days of 50's and 60's, and then 6 inches of snow falling. That's what kills me.

My favorite winter escape has become spending a few days with my in-laws in Landaff in a comfortable chair in front of the fire/wood stove with a glass of good burbon whisky and talking with my wife and relatives. Plenty warm and great company.

If you're able to travel south, I would say Marco Island (west coast of southern Florida) is the place to be. Living in Florida, we've been to many areas of the state. We love visiting the west coast, and Marco is my pick. Uncrowded, beautiful beaches, great weather throughout the winter months. We have been to Marco Island almost yearly for the past 20 years, so let me know if you would like more information about where to stay, etc. It's a splurge (even for us, who live in Florida) but oh, a delightful one. We live very close to the Keys, but Marco is still my favorite spot for relaxation.

I've never been to Marco Island but my parents have! My dad actually lives on the west coast of FL now - I'm taking the kids for a visit for school vacation. I like Florida's west coast much better then the east coast, too!
