Had to go down to Delran this past weekend for business, noticed 295 has some cones set up along the left lanes with the medians dug out I think between Bordentown and Mt. Holly. Are they widening the highway to 8 lanes (4 each way)? If they are that's great but it really doesn't seem to need it.

I don't know, but that sounds like what they were doing south of 42 the last few years. They were digging up & rebuilding the road.

That's what they did for several summers south of 42.

Glad I'm not the only one who wondered what the hell they were doing.

How bad is it with the construction going on? I have avoided it since the construction started but avoiding it takes me out of the way when I go to my mother's.

295 is one highway I have never experienced traffic on. It was practically empty on Saturday both ways. I got on from Rt 1 in Lawrenceville and took it down to exit 43 to go to Delran for business. Usually go down a little further and get off either at Rt 73 or Haddonfield-Berlin Rd since I have family in those areas. Never had any traffic on 295, that's why I said if they are widening it it really doesn't need it. I can't remember the last time I was on the turnpike south of 10 because 295 is always empty.

But have you driven it in rush hour?

Right, I have experienced tons of traffic on it during the week where you really don't even move, but then again I am not up that far north (to go to my Mom's I get on 295 from 42 and take it up to the 73 north exit). It is usually during the week. I took it one time when the construction had started and it was very confusing, the road split up into multiple lanes and I wasn't sure which side I was supposed to be on. So I've been instead taking 73 all the way up to the Tacony from the AC expressway. But now 73 is undergoing construction and I anticipate will become nightmarish at some point around the Marlton circle, so it would be nice to know if 295 is "safe" again, lol.
