Front wheel drive is what most people in this state use in the snow. What is not good in the snow is REAR wheel drive.

Plenty of people drive front wheel cars in New Jersey. Whether 4 wheel drive or front wheel drive, don't speed and leave plenty of distance for braking in the snow and you'll be fine.

In what showrooms are you looking? Pretty much all makers have more FWD than RWD.

Strange...maybe most people are looking for 4 wheel drive cars when they buy in the winter?

Probably because they don't make any.

Most every car is Front Wheel Drive then there are All Wheel Drive (Audi Subaru) type. Then there are rear wheel drive cars, (Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros) VERY fun to drive but not in bad weather. I didn't even mention trucks larger trucks are rear wheel drive with the 4WD option (Not all) then the smaller ones are usually front wheel drive and the optional all wheel drive. (Nissan Rouge) if I'm correct on that. People across the street from me have a Rouge and I could see all the tires spin when they tried to get out of their parking spot.

You're getting some bad info. The only RWD Nissan car is their sports coupe, the 370Z. The rest are either FWD or AWD or have option for FWD or AWD. Their sedans are all FWD with their crossovers and SUVs giving an option of AWD. They also have another sports car, the GT-R but that is AWD. I can't believe a dealer would tell you that they don't stock FWD.

FWD is perfectly fine in NJ. Unless you insist on being on the roads before the plows go through, you can get along fine with FWD and all weather tires. If you insist on driving through snow then snow tires would be advisable and of course AWD would help. FWD and snow tires works well even without AWD though.
