Thanks TristateTraveller, ur comments were very helpful. You are so right, none of the homes in Bellemont have basements. We also saw some homes in Woods but they were also without basements. Do you still live in The Woods ? Do you guys like it there ?

General question: How long does it take for someone to find their home. We have been looking for only a month now, for commuting & monetory reasons, we closed in on Monmouth & Middlesex and ended up looking in Marlboro, Manalapan, Freehold and we think we are close to choosing a home and making an offer. Is that normal? We sometimes get overwhelmed and feel tht we r moving too fast...

If you know where to find it then why are you asking?

From Marlboro a monthly bus pass will cost you about $320. Park and Ride varies. I don't know if Marlboro built the commuter perking lot, they were supposed to. If I was in Marlboro I'd drive north on 9 to Old Bridge where they have a ton of "first come, first serve" lots. Some are free and some are a dollar a day.

The bus pass might save you a zone too so you'd pay around 300 or just under.

Hi, we moved to Bergen County in September. We had tossed around the idea of staying in Central Jersey and we looked at homes in Holmdel and Middletown, but ultimately the commute was too much for my husband and also all of our family is in the NY area, so Bergen was a better fit for us.

There are homes in the Woods with basements but they are priced a bit higher. You'll probably be OK for several years without one, but if you have kids or are planning to have them, I'd recommend one. I really liked my neighborhood... it was quiet, out of the way, all the homes were well-maintained, and I never felt unsafe walking my dog at night.

Also, as far as bus info goes, I forget how much the tickets are, but as far as parking passes go, here's the municipal clerk's number:

Availability of space in lots varies. Please call the Municipal Clerk's office at 732-536-0200, Ext 1805 for current availability.

i grew up in marlboro but its my understanding that since ive left, there is a growing russian population. id be more concerned with their tolerance than with "rednecks." still, its an upscale town and i wouldnt expect problems.

I dont understand why people choose to live SO far from where they work, theres plenty white collar suburbs no less than 20 minutes from midtown, why kill yourself with that commute?

Hi, I'm following up with your comment above and was wondering what other information you can provide about Marlboro. Would you consider the town to be a good place to raise a family? My husband and I are in our mid thirties currently without children and am interested in this area as we've heard good things about the area. But would like an unbiased impression of it. Also are thee things to do for a couple in their mid thirties?
